Irbid Children's Village Second Open Day: A Day of Excitement!

In a festive atmosphere, SOS Children's VillageS Jordan hosted an open day on Thursday at Irbid Children's Village under the patronage of AES Jordan, one of the major supporting companies of the Association. The event was titled "World of Joy" and featured a variety of entertainment activities, a bazaar, face painting, with the participation of a large crowd of children, parents from the local community, mothers, and graduates, alongside the children of the village and their caregivers. The Board of Directors, as well as partners and supporters, were also in attendance.

A bazaar was opened with the participation of several young women and ladies from the local community, as support from SOS Children's Villages to enable them to showcase and market their products to the attendees.

The open day included numerous entertainment activities such as inflatable games, contests, face painting, and a magic show, along with a Kung Fu performance by the village children and a folk dance group. This day aligns with the association's mission to promote social integration between the village children and the local community's children, opening the village's doors to guests to enjoy a day with their children. Participation was free, and families were invited to attend.

The Association will organize the third open day in Aqaba Children's Village on Saturday, September 9, 2023, from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM, following a successful open day held in Amman Children's Village earlier in August.

SOS Children's Villages Jordan, founded in 1983, is a non-profit national association that provides alternative family care for children and youth who lost or are at risk of losing parental care in its three villages located in Amman, Aqaba, and Irbid, as well as in its youth houses.

It's worth noting that AES Jordan is a coalition of American AES Corporation, Japanese Mitsui, and Qatari Nebras, operating in Jordan since 2007. It generates electricity with a capacity of about 14 percent of the kingdom's electricity demand.
