My name is Fatima, or as my children call me, Mama Fatima. I have been working as a mother at Irbid Children's Village for 20 years now, since its establishment.
My personal journey was marked by the early loss of my mother during my childhood, leaving me acutely aware of the profound impact of such a loss. A few years later, my father also passed away, compelling me to step into the role of a mother when I was 28 years old. Currently, I preside over a household within the village, where I have nurtured and guided eight boys and eight girls to adulthood. I am now the proud grandmother of six grandchildren.
Children are an invaluable gift, and my own experiences drove me to provide love and care to those who have been deprived of such blessings. This calling led me to apply for the position of a mother at SOS Children's Villages Jordan, where I could dedicate my life to fostering the growth and well-being of children who lacked this privilege.
Among my children, my eldest son, Saddam, stands as a testament to our collective efforts. He holds a degree from Yarmouk University, now working successfully in a company in Amman, all while achieving remarkable success in Taekwondo. My other sons and daughters have excelled academically, with four of my daughters being happily married, and I am now blessed with the title of grandmother. The youngest, Hamza, is an outstanding student and possesses a melodious singing voice.
I am not just their mother but also their confidant and friend. Like any family, we engage in outings, visits, and celebrations with their married siblings, particularly during holidays and special occasions. My commitment to supporting each of them on their journey to independence remains unwavering. When seeking guidance, I turn to the village director, a paternal figure to all the children in our care. His counsel, rooted in confidentiality, neutrality, and leadership, reinforces my dedication to my role as a mother, alongside my fervor for nurturing my children.
I fervently pray that God watches over all my children, those I have raised and the boys and girls of SOS Children's Villages. These children represent a sacred trust, and I eagerly anticipate their boundless achievements and brighter tomorrows. With heartfelt affection, I conclude this message.
