SOS Children’s Villages Jordan and Spirax Sarco Launch Innovation Lab to Support Children’s Education in STEM Fields

Amman, Jordan — SOS Children’s Villages Jordan announced a special partnership with Spirax Sarco, a global leader in sustainable steam and thermal energy solutions and fluid technology. Spirax Sarco has funded the Innovation Lab project at Amman Children’s Village, aiming to create an interactive learning environment where children can develop practical skills in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), enhance their technical abilities, and prepare to become active members of their community with skills aligned with the demands of the digital age.

The Innovation Lab, funded by Spirax Sarco, has offered specialized training programs for children aged 10–12 and 12–14 during the summer break, continuing through November 9, 2024. In these programs, children learned how to build and program robots, use 3D printers and CNC machines to create their own models, understand electronics fundamentals and applications, explore IoT technologies, and develop applications for smart devices.

This collaboration highlights the importance of cross-sector partnerships in achieving shared developmental goals and exemplifies a powerful initiative to provide real opportunities for growth and education in future-focused fields. Spirax Sarco’s funding supports SOS Children’s Villages Jordan’s efforts to empower children in technical and innovative fields, opening broader horizons for their futures and reinforcing their confidence in their ability to create and innovate.
