Amman - The National Council for Family Affairs and SOS Children's Villages Jordan signed a memorandum of understanding with the aim of implementing accreditation and quality standards for services provided to cases of domestic violence, as well as accreditation and quality standards for services at the safe homes and the 3 villages in Amman, Irbid, and Aqaba, under the Association
The agreement was signed by Dr. Mohammad Fakhri Miqdadi /NCFA Secretary General, and Mrs. Rana AlZoubi, the National Director of the Association.
The signing of the agreement is within the framework of the project "Enhancing Access to Comprehensive Services Relating to Gender-Based Violence in Jordan," funded by the European Union and executed by the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation, in collaboration with the National Council for Family Affairs, SOS Children's Villages Jordan, and other partners.
Miqdadi stated that in 2014, as part of its role in providing technical support to institutions and its ongoing efforts to enhance the protection system, the Council established accreditation and quality standards for services provided to cases of violence. He affirmed that these standards were adopted by the Cabinet to serve as a reference for national institutions in organizing their response to violence cases and formulating institutional policies related to family protection. This ensures the improvement of service quality for beneficiaries.
He added that the agreement aims to outline the general framework of cooperation between the Council and SOS Children's VillagesJordan, defining the roles and responsibilities of each party. Both sides recognize the importance of constructing a national model that delivers services according to nationally approved quality control standards. This model should serve as a role model for national institutions in service delivery, fostering partnership and collaboration in this field.
In turn, Rana AlZoubi, the National Director of the SOS Children's Villages Jordan, emphasized the significance of this agreement, aligning with the Association's commitment to continuous development in the care provided to children with no parentail care and abused women.
She highlighted that the goal of the agreement is to apply accreditation and quality standards to the services provided to beneficiaries, aiming to achieve excellence certifications in institutional performance for delivering services to victims of domestic violence benefiting from the Safe Homes project established by SOS Children's Villages Jordan in Amman, Irbid, and Aqaba. Additionally, it seeks excellence certification in delivering services to children and young people deprived of family support who benefit from the association's services, following accreditation and quality standards for shelter services. AlZoubi underscored the importance of national partnerships and collaborative efforts to ensure support for children and young people in building strong personalities that empower them to create a better future for themselves and their communities.
