Hikma Pharmaceuticals Renews Its Strategic Partnership with SOS Children's Villages Jordan

Amman - October 2023: In recognition of the importance of supporting children and youth who lak parental care, Hikma Pharmaceuticals has renewed its strategic partnership with SOS Children's Villages Jordan to assist the Association in carrying out its humanitarian mission. This partnership includes sponsoring a portion of the ongoing expenses of one of the family houses in the Children's Villages and sponsoring the education of ten children who lack parental care in the villages.

Mrs. Rana Al-Zoubi, the National Director of SOS Children's Villages Jordan, expressed her pride in this strategic partnership and the significance of continuing this unique collaboration. The partnership covers several aspects, including the basic needs of children, their education, and the involvement of company employees in interactive activities with the children. This helps promote the integration of children into the wider community and encourages employees to engage in volunteer work to enhance their spirit of giving.

Hana Darwazeh Ramadan, Vice President of the Corporate Social Responsibility department at Hikma Pharmaceuticals, stated, "The mission of Hikma Pharmaceuticals is a humanitarian one aimed at improving the quality of life for individuals in general. We aspire to achieve this not only by providing high-quality medicines at hand but also by offering social responsibility programs to support the communities in which we operate."

SOS Children's Villages Jordan provides alternative care for children and youth who lack parental care or are at risk of losing it, and supports youth till the age of 24 helping them reach independence. What distinguishes its care model is providing integrated care for children and youth, by covering all their needs including care, accommodation, education & skills, protection & social inclusion, food security, physical health, livelihood, and social & emotional wellbeing. The association is guided by the UN Guidelines for the Alternative Care for Children and the Convention on the Rights of the Child issued by the United Nations. The Association also aligns its efforts with the principles of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, where the goals of the United Nations for sustainable development come within the focus of the its work and strategy.
