About Us
The Mitigating the Prevalence of Drug Use among Youth and Children project is implemented by SOS Children’s Villages Jordan with funding from the European Union, in partnership with JOHUD, the Anti-Narcotics Department, the Ministry of Education, and the Ministry of Higher Education . The project aims to reduce the prevalence of drug use among youth and children through prevention, awareness raising, early detection, and community-based support interventions.
The project adopts a holistic and rights-based approach that empowers young people, families, educators, and communities with the knowledge, skills, and support systems needed to prevent substance use and address its underlying risk factors. Through awareness campaigns, school and university engagement, psychosocial support interventions, capacity-building initiatives, support groups, and referral pathways, the project promotes resilience, healthy coping mechanisms, and early help-seeking behaviors.
