My name is Mama Arwa, and I joined Aqaba Children’s Village as a caregiver in 2007. When I began, I had 5 children under my care. Today, they have grown and graduated from our home, and I have embarked on a new mission of raising 5 other children. I have been living this life for a while now.
Twelve young men and boys have graduated from my care, some of whom are currently pursuing university studies. They have continued on their paths and built their futures. Being a live-in caregiver for these children is more than just a job; it's a role filled with deep emotions, and I feel privileged to provide care to these children.
The most rewarding aspect for me is when my children call me "mama." It's as if they are a part of my soul, and more. I wake up and go to sleep with them, providing for their needs and overseeing their online lessons. When one of them falls ill, I care for them. There is nothing more fulfilling than this, believe me.
Many children have graduated from my care and have become young adults. We maintain a strong bond with each other, and everyone who has left my care carries with them fond memories. I am immensely proud of their growth. Honestly, the work I do is unlike any other job; it goes beyond earning a salary. I hope and pray that I can continue my mission, nurturing these children with love and care as they grow.
** All my appreciation to Mama Arwa and all mothers. **
