MOU signing between SOS Children's Villages Jordan and Grand Hyatt Amman Hotel to train and support young people

Amman- SOS Children's Villages Jordan and Grand Hyatt Amman Hotel have signed a memorandum of understanding to train and qualify a group of young people for the labor market as part of the Association's youth development program, “YouthCan!”.

The MoU was signed by Rana AlZoubi, National Director of SOS Children's Villages Jordan, and Ben Wozny, General Director at Grand Hyatt Amman, in the presence of the hotel's management team that will ensure the success of this partnership and its benefits to the youth. According to the MoU, fifteen young people in Amman, Irbid, and Aqaba will have the opportunity to receive guidance and direction from the hotel team, in line with a joint action plan designed to achieve the desired impact.

AlZoubi expressed her enthusiasm for this partnership and emphasized that the agreement will help build the capacities of young people and provide them with practical skills and opportunities for professional advancement. Searching for employment can be particularly challenging for young people without adequate parental care, as they often lack the networks and support necessary to move on with their lives after graduating from alternative care. YouthCan programme aims to fill this gap by collaborating with partners from different fields to support young people's capabilities and smooth their journey into the independence phase through three pillars. The first pillar, "Train," offers tailor-made skills training programs and workshops for soft and technical skills development. The second pillar, "Practice," provides participants with opportunities for internships, job shadowing, practical experiences, apprenticeships, and ultimately, job opportunities. The third pillar, "Mentor," involves one-on-one mentorship sessions between young people and corporate employees, aimed at building the confidence and self-esteem necessary for young people to compete efficiently in the labor market.

The General Manager of Grand Hyatt Amman Hotel, Ben Wozny said, "We are pleased to announce our partnership with SOS Children's Villages Jordan, this national developmental association that is making a positive impact in our society. This partnership allows us to unite efforts to support children and youth as they are the future of our society, and we are very much looking forward to giving back to the community with all our passion and hearts."
