SOS Children's Villages Launches its Campaign for The Holy Month of Ramadan

Amman - SOS Children's Villages Jordan has launched its annual campaign on the occasion of the blessed month of Ramadan, with the aim of encouraging people of goodwill to support children who lost parental care living in its three villages, community hoouses, and youth houses in Amman, Irbid, and Aqaba.

This year's campaign comes under a slogan that translates into "Delight them with your Zakat, and Multiply your Good Deeds," highlighting the reward and significance of giving Zakat, especially in the month of blessings, mercy, and forgiveness, Ramadan. Sponsoring a child not only brings rewards in this world but also in the hereafter.

The campaign this year includes an artistic collaboration with the artists Nida'a Sharara and Hussein Al-Salman, along with children from Irbid children's village. This artistic endeavor reflects the rituals of the holy month in SOS Children's Villages, conveying warm sentiments about the importance of family and the affection and unity it offers, which are even more significant during the month of kindness and compassion. This campaign is supported by Almarai and Teeba for Investment and Industrial Development, who believe in the Association's mission and the importance of supporting these children.

The Association provides various channels for supporting and sponsoring children who lost parental care, including its website, the e-donation system, e-wallets, and other available donation methods on the Association's website and social media platforms. Additionally, people of goodwill can fulfill their Zakat or support the children. The sponsorship fee for a child is 15 Jordanian dinars per month, while the sponsorship fee for a family consisting of (5-7) children is 50 Jordanian dinars per month. Corporate and institutional sponsorship for a family house in the villages is 15,000 Jordanian dinars, covering part of the ongoing expenses for one year.

It is worth mentioning that SOS Children's Villages Jordan provides alternative care for children and youth who lack parental care or are at risk of losing it, and supports youth till the age of 24 helping them reach independence. What distinguishes its care model is providing integrated care for children and youth, by covering all their needs including care, accommodation, education & skills, protection & social inclusion, food security, physical health, livelihood, and social & emotional wellbeing. The association is guided by the UN Guidelines for the Alternative Care for Children and the Convention on the Rights of the Child issued by the United Nations. The Association also aligns its efforts with the principles of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, where the goals of the United Nations for sustainable development come within the focus of the its work and strategy.
