Who we are

SOS Children's Villages Jordan is a national non-profit organization established in 1983 to provide alternative care for children and youth who lack parental care or are at risk of losing it.

What distinguishes our care model is providing integrated care for children and youth, by covering all their needs including care, accommodation, education and skills, protection and social inclusion, food security, physical health, livelihood, and social and emotional wellbeing. The Association is guided by the UN Guidelines for the Alternative Care for Children and the Convention on the Rights of the Child issued by the United Nations. The Association also aligns its efforts with the principles of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, where the goals of the United Nations for sustainable development come within the focus of the Association's work and strategy.

Job Purpose

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for managing the organization's HR operations and ensuring that human resources policies, procedures, and practices support organizational objectives. The role oversees recruitment, employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits administration, learning and development, HR compliance, and HR reporting while promoting a positive, inclusive, and high-performing workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities

 

1. HR Operations

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the HR department.
  • Ensure HR policies and procedures are consistently implemented and regularly updated.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation.
  • Monitor HR metrics and prepare management reports.

 

2. Recruitment and Onboarding

  • Lead end-to-end recruitment processes, including workforce planning, sourcing, interviewing, selection, and onboarding.
  • Ensure recruitment practices are fair, transparent, and aligned with organizational policies.
  • Support hiring managers in workforce planning and talent acquisition.
  • Oversee employee orientation and onboarding programs.

 

3. Performance Management

  • Coordinate the annual performance management cycle.
  • Support managers in setting objectives and conducting performance reviews.
  • Monitor performance improvement plans and employee development initiatives.

 

4. Learning and Development

  • Identify organizational training needs.
  • Develop and implement annual learning and development plans.
  • Coordinate internal and external training activities and evaluate their effectiveness.

 

5. Compensation and Benefits

  • Support salary reviews, grading, and compensation benchmarking.
  • Administer employee benefits in accordance with organizational policies.
  • Coordinate payroll inputs with the Finance Department.
  • Ensure timely administration of employee entitlements.

 

6. Employee Relations

  • Provide guidance to managers and employees on HR policies and employment matters.
  • Handle employee grievances, disciplinary processes, and conflict resolution.
  • Promote employee engagement and well-being initiatives.

 

7. HR Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, organizational policies, and donor requirements where applicable.
  • Support internal and external HR audits.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee information.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding, diversity, equity, inclusion, and occupational health and safety standards.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
  • Master's degree is an advantage.
  • Professional HR certification (CIPD, SHRM, PHR, SPHR, or equivalent) is preferred.

 

Experience

  • Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive HR experience, in a supervisory or managerial HR role
  • Experience in the NGO, nonprofit, or international development sector is an asset.
  •
