As part of a series of trainings initiated by the SOS Children’s Villages Jordan Association to train facilitators of the TeamUp program, and following the completion of trainings in Amman and Aqaba, the third phase of training has been launched in northern Jordan, in Irbid. The four-day training was inaugurated within the framework of the Family Strengthening Project at the association, in the presence of the Director of the Social Development Directorate in Irbid, Mr. Mohammad Abu Tarboosh, and the Program Director of SOS Children’s Villages Irbid, Mr. Zakaria Al-Momani, in addition to the trainers: Orouba Amin, Training Officer at SOS Children’s Villages Jordan, and Ali Salman, National Alternative Care Advisor in Syria and a certified TeamUp trainer.
The training includes the participation of twenty facilitators from local organizations working with children in Irbid Governorate. After completing the training and conducting sessions for children, they will be qualified to become certified TeamUp trainers and will later join the program’s global network of trainers.
The four-day training, held from November 3 to November 6, 2025, at 7Days Hotel – Irbid, aims to prepare facilitators capable of implementing the TeamUp program. TeamUp is a movement-based psychosocial support program that enhances children’s social and emotional development and helps them cope with psychological challenges such as bullying, anger, fear, and conflict.
The training includes both practical and theoretical sessions focused on developing facilitators’ skills in using movement and interaction as tools for expressing emotions and building positive communication with children, thereby creating a safe and supportive environment for their holistic development.
Attendees emphasized the importance of such programs in promoting children’s mental health and strengthening the capacities of professionals in the social sector to apply modern, evidence-based methodologies that address children’s psychological and behavioral needs.
