From North to South, 60 Young People and Advocates Lead Three Campaigns to Shape the Future of Youth

From career guidance to training, employment and entrepreneurship opportunities, 60 adolescents, young people and advocates are leading three advocacy campaigns launched by Children’s Villages Jordan across the Central, Northern and Southern regions from September to December 2026.

The campaigns are grounded in a clear principle: young people are not merely beneficiaries of programmes; they are partners in identifying the issues that affect their lives and shaping appropriate solutions. Participants are working to identify challenges and gaps, set priorities, propose solutions and engage with decision-makers, the private sector and relevant institutions. Through this process, the campaigns aim to improve young people’s access to opportunities and strengthen their active participation in society.

Rana AlZoubi, National Director of SOS Children’s Villages Jordan, said:

“Empowering adolescents and young people is a strategic priority in the Association’s work, and it goes beyond preparing them for the transition to independence. We want them to be partners in understanding their realities, identifying their priorities and helping shape their future. Listening to their experiences enables us, alongside different stakeholders, to develop solutions that are more responsive to their needs and better aligned with the realities of their communities and the labour market.”

AlZoubi added: “We work to connect young people’s priorities with available opportunities and to understand the gaps between what they need and what they can access. This allows us to develop practical interventions and partnerships that support them in becoming active, contributing members of their communities.”

Each region is addressing an issue directly linked to young people’s future:

- Central Region: Promoting a Culture of Career Guidance for Adolescents and Young People in Jordan. The campaign aims to help young people better understand career pathways and access guidance and options aligned with their abilities and aspirations.

- Southern Region: Strengthening Private Sector Social Responsibility to Support Youth Training and Employment. The campaign seeks to encourage companies to contribute to creating training and employment opportunities and to better connect young people with labour market needs.

- Northern Region: Advancing the Economic Rights of Young Jordanians Seeking to Establish Entrepreneurial Ventures. The campaign aims to improve access to financing, incubation and entrepreneurship support services for young people with business ideas and emerging ventures.

Zaid Al Adwan, Advocacy Unit Officer at SOS Children’s Villages Jordan, explained that the campaigns create opportunities for direct dialogue between young people and stakeholders who can drive change, including the private sector, decision-makers and relevant institutions. The aim is to build partnerships around the three issues.

Each campaign includes events and activities led by participants across its respective region through December 2026, helping move youth-related issues beyond discussion towards structured engagement with relevant stakeholders.

Each campaign team comprises 20 adolescents, young people and advocates from SOS Children’s Villages Jordan and the local community. Participants are responsible for developing and implementing activities and engaging with stakeholders, placing young people at the heart of each campaign: identifying priorities, proposing solutions and helping advance dialogue around them.
